Carousel Gun Racks Can Display Firearms, Lazy Susan Style

If you’re a proud gun owner looking for a way to display numerous firearms with easy access to any of them at any time, consider a gun display cabinet with a carousel gun rack.

These types of cabinets enable you to store firearms on a rotary gun rack that acts just like a Lazy Susan, the common turntable that helps distribute food when placed on the dinner table. It rotates fully and makes each gun easy to reach and/or view.

You can efficiently store your Winchester, Remington, Ruger, or other cherished rifles in an attractive wooden gun cabinet like USA Gun Cabinet corner models.

The unique carousel design of our corner gun cabinets ensures that your rifles are cradled securely in an upright position and remain so until you’re ready to use them.

With a hexagonal glass-encased display for larger gun collections and flat display, our custom rotary gun cabinets enable you to prop the muzzle of each rifle on its left and right sides. The double nesting prevents rifles from leaning during storage.

The “lazy susan” carousel feature is handcrafted by the Amish woodworkers in our Lancaster County shop. The craftsmanship is evident in each piece. Custom cabinets by USA Gun Cabinets are available in maple, cherry, and oak with a wide variety of staining choices and optional custom glass etching.

Why Are They Called Lazy Susans?

Reportedly, Thomas Jefferson invented the rotating tray which would become today’s Lazy Susan. Some historians, however, credit Wang Zhen, a Chinese official said to have created a revolving table to organize thousands of Chinese characters for typesetting purposes. In 1891, a woman named Elizabeth Howell filed a patent in Missouri for her self-waiting table, an obvious basis for today’s Lazy Susans.

The spinning platter eventually became commonplace in Chinese restaurants in the U.S. At some point in the early 1900s, these rotating platters were dubbed “Lazy Susans,” with Susan being a very common name during that time. However, the true origin of this spinning table and why it has this name is not clear.

Regardless of the lore behind the invention, rotating displays are an efficient system for the serious gun owner wishing to store and display numerous guns in one cabinet.
